Position Title: Quality Inspector
Location: Miami Lakes, FL
Duration: 6-8 Month Contract + Extensions
Compensation: $18-$19/Hour
Shift Hours: 3pm-11:30pm Monday-Friday + most Sundays - Will be paid OT for Sunday / OT opportunities during the week too.
Position Overview
The Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring product conformance to engineering and customer requirements, with a primary focus on aerospace components. This role performs detailed inspections of incoming materials and finished goods, verifies certifications for outgoing shipments, and supports special processing and custom orders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, quality-focused, and well-versed in QA best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming materials and finished products to verify compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Confirm accuracy and completeness of certifications and documentation for outgoing orders
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections using precision measuring tools on a daily basis
- Conduct audits, surveillance, and monitoring activities to ensure ongoing product conformance
- Document inspection results and provide objective evidence of compliance
- Identify, document, and control nonconforming material, including preliminary review and disposition
- Participate in product and process verification activities, including customer reviews when required
- Recognize recurring or significant nonconformances and initiate corrective action requests
- Maintain segregation and control of nonconforming items
- Provide guidance and mentorship to other members of the Inspection team
- Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high accuracy and consistency
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience inspecting small, precision components such as nuts, bolts, screws, gears, and similar hardware
- Proficient in the use of inspection and measurement equipment, including micrometers, calipers, ring and pin gages, optical comparators, and related tools
- Working knowledge of quality inspection methodologies, including First Article Inspection (FAI)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Excel
- Experience performing dimensional and visual inspections in accordance with design documentation and AQL requirements
- Ability to review, evaluate, and disposition certification and compliance documentation to ensure requirements are met
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in the aerospace industry
- Familiarity with AS9100 quality management systems
- Experience with AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports
