Summary
Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Shipping Coordinator ensures an efficient flow of materials and finished goods from the production lines to the shipping area, ensuring efficient, accurate and on-time loading of delivery trucks, or appropriate storage for materials ready to be shipped
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials from production to shipping
- Oversees loading of outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments to customers/ warehouse
- Use software to track, check, prioritize and process shipments
- Inspect orders and ensure that material matches customer requirements
- Report on all shipping activities and notify any issues that may occur
- Ensure final product is correctly packaged and prepared on time
- Coordinate efficient, organized and safe storage of materials ready to be shipped
- Conduct regular product checking for any damages making sure all products meet company standards
- Confirm and record receipts of shipments
- Ensure compliance with departmental housekeeping standards and all safety / work rules are followed
- Prepare items for shipping and load/unload trucks as necessary

Education and/or Experience
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment
- At least 1 year of shipping/ logistics experience
Other skills
- Basic computer knowledge
- Knowledge of shipping documents
- Forklift operation experience preferred
- Proficiency in basic math skills
- Multitasking
- Problem solving
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, production schedules, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors and other employees of the organization. Bilingual English/Spanish helpful, but not required.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, common fractions and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instruction provided in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
