Description\n

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a short-term acute care hospital, requiring a valid MO or compact RN license and a minimum of 2 years of experience.

  • Night shift position working 3x12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
  • \n

  • Medical/Surgical unit in a 110-bed short-term acute care hospital
  • \n

  • General medical and surgical patient population
  • \n

  • Patient ratio of 1:5–6
  • \n

  • Every other weekend required
  • \n

  • Floating required to other units including surgical and telemetry, as well as to an offsite sister facility as needed
  • \n

  • Epic EMR; experience required
  • \n

  • No on-call requirements
  • \n

  • Block scheduling is not available for this position
  • \n

  • 13-week contract
  • \n

Requirements\n

  • Active MO RN license or compact license with MO as primary state required at time of consideration
  • \n

  • Current BLS certification required
  • \n

  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • \n

  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n

  • Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • \n

Additional Information\n

    \n
  • Chemotherapy administration experience and charge nurse experience are preferred skills
  • \n

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • \n

  • Some initial orientation sessions will be scheduled on weekdays, as weekend orientation classes are typically unavailable
  • \n

  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
  • \n

  • Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • \n

  • Standard travelers may work at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
  • \n

  • Navy scrubs required
  • \n

  • Free parking is available on-site
  • \n
