Job Title: Journeyman Electrician
Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Electrician to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in both commercial and residential settings. Your expertise in high- and low-voltage systems, blueprint interpretation, and commitment to safety protocols will be essential to the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Work on construction sites in various weather conditions.
- Install, maintain, and repair temperature control systems, wiring, and equipment according to local codes and the NEC (National Electrical Code).
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine electrical system layouts.
- Collaborate with contractors to discuss project specifications and requirements.
- Adhere to safety standards and protocols to prevent accidents, injuries, and electrical hazards.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, testing instruments, and electrical meters to perform tasks accurately and safely.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to electrical system codes.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to apprentices and junior electricians as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and time spent on projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to meet project deadlines and expectations.
- Manage small teams and projects effectively.
- Use company ERP software to track and manage work.
- Keep inventory of project manpower and materials.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician.
- Proficiency in programming systems such as Niagara, Distech, Johnson Controls, and Honeywell.
- Familiarity with software development tools and version control systems.
- Strong understanding of communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, BACnet) and networking technologies (TCP/IP, UDP).
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and building automation is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
