PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
ABOUT THE POSITION:
We are seeking a proactive, hands-on Production Supervisor to lead operations on our continuous production line. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-output environment and is deeply knowledgeable about production processes from end to end. The ideal candidate will be capable of jumping in at any station of the line to support operations during breaks, shift gaps, or unplanned coverage needs. An understanding of Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) is essential to drive performance, reduce downtime, and improve line efficiency.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Oversight
- Supervise daily operations on the continuous production line to ensure optimal productivity, quality, and safety.
- Coordinate with shift teams to execute production plans and meet output targets.
- Monitor and improve OEE performance by addressing Availability, Performance, and Quality losses in real-time.
- Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process, setting processing variables, observing control points and equipment, and facilitating corrections where needed.
Hands-On Support
- Operate and understand all areas of the line (e.g., entry area, foam, saw, and exit areas of the line.).
- Sub in for production staff during scheduled breaks, short staffing, or unexpected absences to minimize downtime.
- Serve as a resource and technical expert for troubleshooting and hands-on adjustments.
Leadership & Team Development
- Utilize OJT to train, mentor, and develop line operators and technicians to build cross-functional competence across the team.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
- Support onboarding and skills development for new hires.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Monitor in-line quality control processes and ensure products meet specifications.
- Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with OSHA and company-specific regulations.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and downtime tracking.
- Maintain accurate records, including OEE tracking, downtime logs, and production reports.
Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors, maintenance, quality, and logistics teams to ensure smooth production flow.
- Participate in daily production meetings and suggest process improvements.
Work Environment
This is a professional position with active involvement with manufacturing processes and presence within the facility.
Physical Demands
Being able to lift, push, pull 50 pounds when needed. Division of duties within production and office settings. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
