Description

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an ICU position at a hospital in Georgia, caring for critically ill medical/surgical patients with a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience required.

Details

  • 12-bed split ICU unit within a hospital setting, with 6 beds on the 2nd floor (higher acuity) and 6 beds on the 1st floor (lower acuity)
  • Patient population includes critically ill medical/surgical cases such as sepsis, cardiac arrest, cardiovascular disease, respiratory failure, alcohol/drug overdose and withdrawal, post-op surgical care, GI bleeding, end-of-life/comfort care, and COVID-19 complications
  • Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2 on the higher acuity floor and 1:3 on the lower acuity floor (with PCT support)
  • Day shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed
  • Local candidates are accepted

Requirements

  • Active GA RN license or compact RN license required at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of ICU experience required
  • Copies of all required certifications must be provided for consideration
  • Two supervisory references (Manager level or above; charge nurse references not accepted) are highly preferred

Additional Information

  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • No schedule change requests, alternate shifts, or special scheduling requests will be accommodated — the posted shift is firm
  • RTO must be requested upfront and is capped at a maximum of 7 days; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment
  • Holiday coverage policy: if 1 or 2 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO permitted; if 3 major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work 2 of them and may request 1 holiday off for approval
  • Major holidays include: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday (counts as 1), Christmas Eve/Christmas Day (counts as 1), and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day (counts as 1)
  • Travelers who have previously worked at any Piedmont facility must have been away for a full year before returning as a traveler
  • Full compliance with onboarding requirements is required to begin on time; late compliance results in a 2-week pushback due to a bi-weekly orientation schedule
