Job DescriptionSalary: $70k-$85k

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our accounting and finance team in Oberlin, OH with primary responsibility for Bellpark Operations in Surrey, BC. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing full-cycle accounting processes for the Canadian automation entity including month-end close, financial reporting, and data analysis. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and experience handling large volumes of financial data.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end close process in accordance with the Corporate Accounting and consolidation timeline, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Process and review accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll transactions, and processing accounts receivables collections.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment, including operations, supply chain, and finance.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Assist with fiscal inventory, as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting regulations, and internal controls.
  • Handle large volumes of financial data, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and automation.
  • Supports the Corporate Accounting function with identified reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA a plus
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting (including month-end close) is required.
  • Experience handling large volumes of financial data in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
  • Experience with QuickBooks, required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains, a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across different functional areas.
