Job Title: Pellet Delivery Driver
Position Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Pellet Delivery Driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of wood pellets to residential customers. Deliveries are made using a Box truck equipped with a hydraulic lift gate and electric pallet jack to move the tonnage in and out of the truck. Potential candidate will be responsible for operating the truck, lift gate and pallet jack, ensuring accurate placement of product, and providing excellent customer service at each stop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a delivery truck equipped with lift gate and electric pallet jack.
- Load, transport, and unload pallets of pellets to customer locations.
- Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and equipment.
- Secure loads properly to ensure safe transportation.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers, answering basic questions and ensuring deliveries meet customer expectations.
- Take delivery photos and complete any required documentation.
- Communicate with dispatch or management regarding delivery updates, delays, or issues.
- Maintain cleanliness of the truck and report any maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and DOT regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid drivers license.
- Clean driving record.
- Ability to safely operate a pallet jack and other basic material-handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions.
