Quality Engineer | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $69,000 - $103,000 depending on experience

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Delta Township that are seeking skilled Quality Engineers. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control plans and procedures.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for non-conformances and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Perform statistical analysis (e.g., SPC, MSA) to monitor and improve process capability and product quality.
  • Lead internal and external quality audits to ensure compliance with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams on new product introduction (NPI) activities, including APQP and PPAP.
  • Manage supplier quality, including qualification, performance monitoring, and issue resolution.
  • Analyze customer feedback, warranty data, and field returns to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Quality Engineer in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with core quality tools and methodologies (e.g., FMEA, SPC, MSA, 8D, PPAP).
  • Strong understanding of ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in statistical analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Knowledge of metrology, GD&T, and various inspection methods.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
  • Experience with specific industry quality standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 13485, AS9100)
  • Demonstrated experience applying Lean manufacturing principles and tools
