Job Description
Job Description
At StoryBook Hollow Montessori, we believe the first five years of life are the most critical for human development. We are seeking a dedicated Infant/Primary Guide to lead our newly established Nido (Infant) environment or our 2-5 year program. This is not just a caregiving role; it is a position for a professional who understands the "absorbent mind" and is passionate about preparing a beautiful, Christ-centered space where infants can achieve their first milestones of independence and discovery.
Key Responsibilities & Professional Scope
- Curriculum & Environment: Design and maintain a prepared Montessori environment that fosters gross motor development, language acquisition, and sensory exploration.
- Developmental Observation: Conduct regular observations of individual infant and primary progress, using data to adjust the environment to meet the "sensitive periods" of each child.
- Care as Curriculum: Transform routine moments—feeding and diapering—into opportunities for respectful communication, bonding, and autonomy (following the RIE or Montessori philosophy of "freedom within limits").
- Spiritual Stewardship: Integrate Christ-centered values into the daily rhythm through gentle song, nature exploration in our park-like setting, and modeling grace and courtesy.
- Parent Partnership: Act as a developmental consultant for families, providing insights into their child’s growth.
Preferred Qualifications (Moving Beyond Nanny Experience)
- Education: CDA (Child Development Associate), Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or a Montessori Infant/Toddler credential (AMI/AMS).
- Experience: Proven experience in a licensed center-based environment or a laboratory school setting.
- Commitment: A desire to grow within a professional Montessori community rather than seeking a temporary placement.
