Electronics Engineering Technician
On-site, Fredonia, PA | Full-time, Salaried (40 hrs/week, M–F, 8:00am–5:00pm)
Overview
We are seeking an Electronics Engineering Technician to join our team in Fredonia, PA. This hands-on role involves building, testing, and troubleshooting circuit board assemblies and safety products. The ideal candidate brings expertise in mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, with proven experience in electronics manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the development, testing, and debugging of electronic hardware.
- Support firmware and software verification and validation for new and existing products.
- Develop technical procedures, test documents, and ISO-compliant product documentation.
- Collaborate with contract manufacturers (CMs) on PCB assembly, testing, and production startup.
- Design, build, and maintain jigs, fixtures, and specialized equipment.
- Train personnel in electronics manufacturing, handling, troubleshooting, and equipment use.
- Generate and maintain BOMs, ECOs, and certification documentation (FCC, NFPA, UL-913, IP, ATEX).
- Support new product introductions, including circuit board assembly startup and testing.
- Perform root cause failure analysis on product issues and customer returns.
- Maintain laboratory, production, and test equipment in good working order.
- Record and track in-house repairs in the company database.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Valid state-issued driver’s license.
- Proficiency in soldering (surface-mount and through-hole).
- Strong knowledge of ESD-safe handling practices.
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug complex circuits and systems.
- Familiarity with electronics manufacturing methods and processes.
- Ability to write clear technical documents and test procedures.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness and ability to learn new skills and technologies quickly.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in Electronics or related field.
Special Requirements
Employment contract and non-compete agreement required, including non-disclosure of proprietary technologies, trade secrets, and methods.
