We are seeking a licensed Civil Engineer with demonstrated experience in underground storage tank (UST) installation, fuel‐system infrastructure, and site‐civil development. The ideal candidate brings strong technical judgment, field awareness, and the ability to coordinate seamlessly with contractors, inspectors, environmental consultants, and project stakeholders. This role supports planning, design, permitting, and construction oversight for commercial fueling, industrial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
• Develop and seal civil engineering plans related to UST installation, site grading, utilities, stormwater systems, and associated civil works.
• Prepare technical drawings, specifications, and calculations in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct site assessments to evaluate soil conditions, groundwater levels, and constructability constraints.
• Review vendor submittals, shop drawings, and tank installation plans for accuracy and compliance.
Permitting & Compliance
• Lead permitting efforts for UST systems, including environmental, fire marshal, building, and DEP/DEQ approvals.
• Ensure all designs meet regulatory requirements such as NFPA, EPA, state UST rules, and local codes.
• Coordinate environmental testing, monitoring well installation, and compliance documentation as needed.
Construction Oversight
• Provide field engineering support during excavation, tank placement, backfill, piping installation, and system commissioning.
• Conduct site visits to verify adherence to plans, specifications, and safety standards.
• Troubleshoot field issues and propose practical, code‐compliant solutions.
• Prepare daily reports, progress documentation, and as‐built drawings.
Project Coordination
• Collaborate with project managers, contractors, inspectors, and vendors to maintain schedule alignment and resolve technical challenges.
• Participate in pre‐construction meetings, progress meetings, and stakeholder reviews.
• Support cost estimating, material selection, and value‐engineering efforts.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 3–10+ years of civil engineering experience, preferably with UST installation, fuel systems, or industrial site development.
• Strong understanding of UST regulations, environmental compliance, and construction sequencing.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and related design tools.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non‐technical audiences.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.
Preferred Experience
• Direct involvement in UST installation (fueling, DEF, oil-water separators, or similar systems).
• Experience coordinating geotechnical investigations and environmental assessments.
• Knowledge of structural considerations for tank pads, anchoring, and buoyancy control.
