Employment through Medix Staffing
Pay: $23-$24/hr
Schedule: Monday-Friday, flexible shifts between 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
Duration: 4-5 Month Temp Assignment (with potential for permanent placement for top performers)
Start Date: 9/29 or 10/6 (preference for candidates who can start on both dates)
Location: 100% Remote (equipment provided)
Overview
We are seeking a motivated Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice (CPC-A) with foundational knowledge in radiology coding to support a high-volume backlog project. This is a 4-5 month temporary assignment with the opportunity for "A players" to transition into permanent employment. It's an excellent chance for newer coders to gain hands-on experience with a large-scale revenue cycle team and strengthen coding skills in a professional environment.
Key Responsibilities

Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and CPT/HCPCS codes for radiology services in compliance with coding guidelines and payer requirements

Apply appropriate modifiers to accurately reflect services, avoid denials, and secure reimbursement

Review provider documentation to verify coding accuracy and completeness

Assist with coding audits, error resolution, and claim denial support

Maintain knowledge of radiology coding guidelines, CMS rules, and payer regulations

Collaborate with providers, billers, and compliance teams to clarify documentation and resolve coding issues

Support process improvement initiatives to improve coding quality, timeliness, and overall revenue cycle performance
Qualifications
Required:

CPC-A certification

Strong attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to work independently and adapt to a fast-paced project environment
Preferred:

Radiology coding exposure or coursework

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Prior coding internship or healthcare billing/coding experience
Additional Details

Training: First week, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM EST

Shift Options (after training): 7:00-3:00, 8:00-4:30, 8:30-5:00, 9:00-5:30

IT Deposit: $30/week for the first 10 weeks, fully refundable once equipment is returned at the end of assignment
