Job Title: Part-Time Laboratory Technician
Location: Fairfax, VA
Schedule: Part-Time (3 days per week)
Hours: TBD | Standard hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
A local pediatric practice is seeking an experienced Part-Time Lab Technician for their CLIA-certified laboratory. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of point-of-care and moderately complex laboratory tests to support providers in delivering exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities:

Perform phlebotomy on pediatric patients.

Receive, label, and accurately analyze patient samples (blood, urine, etc.).

Conduct in-house testing, including CBC with differential, Urinalysis, Neonatal bilirubin, Lipid panels, Glucose, and rapid tests for Flu/Strep/COVID.

Prepare and process urine cultures and other specimens for send-out to reference labs.

Record all data and results accurately in both paper and electronic (EMR/LIMS) systems.

Perform and document daily quality control, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment.

Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly work environment, adhering to all safety and compliance guidelines.
Requirements:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Medical Laboratory Technology, or a relevant field.

A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Clinical Lab Technician is required.

Hands-on experience with phlebotomy, CBC/diff, and urinalysis.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise technical procedures.

Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to commute reliably to Fairfax, VA.
