Mechanical Engineer - Plumbing and Fire Protection
Job Location: New Haven, CT
Job Salary: $90-120k + performance bonus (Potential to go higher based on background)

Position Overview
We are a growing small business architectural and engineering company based in beautiful New Haven, CT. Our business model focuses on projects involving expansions, new construction, building modifications, renovate-as-new and more!
Due to our stable growth and increasing backlog, we are seeking an experienced Plumbing and Fire Protection Engineer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing plumbing and fire protection systems for various projects while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop plumbing and fire protection systems for commercial and residential projects.
- Conduct system calculations and analysis to ensure efficiency and compliance with building codes.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineers to integrate systems into project designs.
- Utilize AutoCAD and Revit for drafting and modeling plumbing and fire protection systems.
- Participate in project planning and management, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate existing systems and provide recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
- Prepare technical reports and documentation for project stakeholders.
- Ensure designs meet sustainability standards and contribute to LEED certification efforts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- EIT/FE required.
- Proven experience in plumbing and fire protection design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Strong understanding of MEP systems and sustainable design principles.
- Knowledge of applicable codes and regulations in plumbing and fire protection.
- Excellent project management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
