Patient Services Representative I

Location: University of Texas Rio Grande Valley - School of Medicine Building

Pay Rate: $17/hour | Full-Time

Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a Patient Services Representative I to support UT Health RGV at the School of Medicine Building. This position plays a key role as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience while supporting day-to-day clinic operations.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting and registering patients, scheduling, and confirming appointments
• Verifying insurance eligibility for Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
• Collecting copays, deductibles, and assisting with payment plans
• Answering patient inquiries and providing high-level customer service
• Maintaining accurate records in the EMR system while ensuring HIPAA compliance
• Supporting office functions such as check-in/check-out, chart preparation, and deposit balancing

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• At least 6 months of experience in a medical front office or customer service role (or 2 years in direct customer service)
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
• Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
