Job Description

SUMMARY
Responsible for the overall operation and performance of the press, including production, efficiency, quality, material usage, safety, maintenance, and providing guidance to the press crew.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include but are not limited to:

Set up press correctly based on job ticket information.
Match press sheets accurately to color proofs.
Assign specific job duties to press crew members.
Communicate operational and job-related concerns to management.
Maintain production speed and minimize material waste.
Interact professionally with clients.
Ensure proper handoff of information to relief crew.
Train, coach, and cross-train press staff.
Read and interpret electronic job tickets (E-tickets).
Follow established process control and quality procedures.
Adhere to safety protocols; wear appropriate protective equipment; report unsafe conditions.
Follow instructions accurately and suggest improvements to work practices.
Understand role within the company’s Quality Management System (ISO standards).

QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience in press operations.
Knowledge of pressroom procedures and basic printing concepts.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Constant standing, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting (up to 50 lbs), and repetitive motions.
Frequent walking, stooping, crouching, fingering, and grasping.
Occasional sitting, balancing, and kneeling.
