A full-time Special Education Teacher position is available for the upcoming school year in a K-12 public school setting located in Shepherd, MT. This contracted role offers a 37.5-hour work week with a focus on supporting middle school students with special education needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique learning requirements
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to provide inclusive classroom environments
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and behavior management techniques to foster academic growth and social development
- Monitor and document student progress while adjusting interventions as necessary
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and professional development activities
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Montana Special Education teaching certification
- Experience working with middle school students in a special education setting
- Knowledge of current special education laws, regulations, and best practices
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff
- Ability to manage a caseload and maintain accurate records
