Location: Patchogue, New York (NY)
Duration: 6 Weeks

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician to support sterile processing operations in an acute care hospital environment. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of decontamination, instrument processing, tray assembly, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention practices.

Schedule

  • Evening Shift
  • Monday – Friday
  • 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
  • No weekends required
  • Overtime opportunities available

Required Certifications

  • HSPA (formerly IAHCSMM) Certification

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of Sterile Processing experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted

  • Acute Care Hospital Operating Room
  • Ambulatory Surgery Center
  • Teaching Hospital
  • Community Hospital
  • LTAC
  • Trauma Level I or Level II Facility
  • Charge Experience

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
  • Prepare instrument trays and procedural sets according to established standards
  • Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment safely and effectively
  • Maintain accurate instrument tracking and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and regulatory requirements
  • Support operating room and procedural departments through timely instrument processing
  • Monitor equipment functionality and report issues as needed
