Job Title: Engineering Test Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Engineering Test Technician with hands-on experience in electronics within lab, testing, manufacturing, or R&D environments. This role involves working with power systems, including batteries and battery cells, and requires proficiency in soldering electronic components or test equipment. Knowledge of electrical safety practices for low- to moderate-voltage systems (up to ~60V) and the ability to read and follow electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and test plans is essential.
Responsibilities
- Set up, run, monitor, stop, and re-run tests using computer-based test scripts.
- Build, modify, or maintain test fixtures and wire harness assemblies.
- Utilize power supplies and standard electronic lab equipment for testing.
- Handle electronic components and battery hardware safely in a lab environment.
- Troubleshoot test interfaces using Python/Linux.
- Work with full machine shop access, including CNC, mills, lathes, and laser cutters.
- Participate in technical skill development and cross-training opportunities.
Essential Skills
- Electronics troubleshooting and soldering proficiency.
- Experience with batteries, battery cells, or power systems.
- Working knowledge of electrical safety for low- to moderate-voltage systems.
- Ability to read and follow schematics, wiring diagrams, and test instructions.
- Familiarity with power supplies and electronic test equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in wire harness building, crimping, and cable assembly.
- Exposure to 3D printers for fixture or lab support.
- Welding experience if previously trained.
- Experience working in development, R&D, or test lab environments.
- Familiarity with general fabrication tools and lab equipment.
Work Environment
You will work in a casual dress code environment within a manufacturing shop, starting your shift between 7-9 AM. Enjoy catered lunches daily and ample opportunities for overtime. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South San Francisco, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $45.00/hr.
