Position Summary
We are currently seeking a reliable and experienced Survey Technician to assist with curb machine operations using Leica surveying equipment. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, a strong background in construction layout/surveying, and the ability to work closely with machine operators to ensure precise curb placement.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate Leica total stations, GPS systems, and related survey tools to guide curb machine operations.
- Assist in setting string lines and controlling elevations for concrete curb placement.
- Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and grade stakes.
- Communicate clearly with machine operators and site supervisors to maintain alignment, elevation, and grade.
- Troubleshoot issues with layout and machine guidance as needed.
- Perform daily equipment checks and ensure proper calibration of Leica gear.
- Maintain field notes, records, and documentation as required.
- Travel between job sites as needed (must have reliable transportation and valid driver’s license).
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
- 1–3 years of experience in land surveying, construction layout, or related field.
- Experience working with Leica surveying equipment (e.g., total station, GPS rover, etc.).
- Knowledge of curb machine operations is a plus.
- Strong understanding of elevation, slope, and construction benchmarks.
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Team player with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment:
Regularly works in outside weather conditions, including extreme heat and humidity. Frequently works near heavy equipment and moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. Work may involve exposure to a variety of substances found on construction site such as oil, grease, gasoline, concrete and diesel fuel. Periodically exposed to fumes, lubricants, airborne particles and dust. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
