POSITION SUMMARY:
This faculty member will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Accounting, both online and in person at the Mid-America Christian University campus in Oklahoma City.
Professional and teaching excellence, a Christian lifestyle, and continued research in the field are expected. Instruction should be characterized as student-focused with engagement using technology integration. Faculty members at MACU also serve as spiritual mentors and are expected to possess an active and mature Christian faith and be involved in a local church.
Additional responsibilities as the Program Director for the Accounting and Ethics program include serving on University committees; attending university and school meetings; overseeing departmental processes necessary for overall program evaluation, strategic planning, and accreditation; advisement of students; curriculum development; and selection and monitoring of faculty.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teach undergraduate (and potentially graduate courses) on a full-time basis.
- Assess student performance using outcomes-based assessments
- Collaborate with content and design specialists to develop curriculum consistent with course objectives and best practices in the School of Business Leadership
- Coordinate scheduling of courses and adjunct faculty
- Engage in student advisement and degree progress oversight
- Monitor and supervise full-time and adjunct faculty within the program
- Address student and instructor issues in the School of Business Leadership Accounting courses
QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Master of Accounting or MBA with CPA certification.
- Strong organizational and teaching skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work as part of a team to coordinate and support programs within the school and university
- Ability to employ appropriate technology and best practices in teaching both traditional and adult learners
- Adherence to the Christian mission and policies of the University
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Doctoral degree with an emphasis in accounting preferred
- Experience in higher education teaching and/or administration in higher education (minimum of 3 years preferred)
- Extensive professional experience in accountancy is preferred
