The Construction Manager supports the oversight and delivery of construction projects across THE NOW portfolio. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day construction activities, coordinating with contractors and consultants, ensuring compliance with plans and codes, and delivering projects on time and within budget. The Construction Manager will play a hands-on role in the execution of new construction and renovation projects, while supporting senior leadership in achieving organizational goals.
Key ResponsibilitiesConstruction Management
- Manage assigned construction projects from planning through completion.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to meet project goals.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure quality, safety, and compliance with building codes.
- Monitor permitting processes and assist in securing timely approvals.
- Identify and resolve project-related issues and escalate significant concerns to the Director of Construction.
Project Management
- Develop and track project schedules and budgets for assigned projects.
- Monitor progress, identify delays, and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the customer service team on tenant communications.
- Support close-out activities, including punch lists and transition to operations.
- Assist in preparing progress reports for senior leadership.
Team & Vendor Coordination
- Supervise contractors and vendors to ensure quality work and adherence to timelines.
- Support enforcement of construction policies, procedures, and safety standards.
- Foster collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Communication & Stakeholder Support
- Serve as a point of contact for construction-related questions on assigned projects.
- Maintain regular communication with tenants, contractors, and consultants.
- Provide timely updates to the Director of Construction and project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 2–5 years of experience in construction project management or site supervision.
- Familiarity with construction processes, building codes, and safety regulations.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency with project management and construction software tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment
- Combination of office, construction site, and field-based activities.
- Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including exposure to weather.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as project deadlines require.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform site-related physical activities.
