Addison Group is working with a growing and reputable organization in the Charlotte area that is seeking a Payroll and Benefits Supervisor to support their expanding payroll and benefits functions. This newly created position offers the opportunity to lead key payroll processes, support a dynamic team, and contribute to ongoing system and process improvements.
Job Description:
The Payroll and Benefits Supervisor will oversee payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery. This role will manage benefit administration functions, act as a liaison with internal departments and external vendors, and supervise payroll support staff. Ideal candidates will bring deep UKG experience, leadership capabilities, and strong analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing using UKG for U.S. and Canada
- Oversee benefit administration including enrollments, integrations, and compliance
- Supervise payroll staff and delegate daily responsibilities
- Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local laws
- Maintain payroll records, reports, and reconciliation processes
- Serve as primary point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries
- Partner with HR, accounting, and IT on system integrations and improvements
- Conduct and support internal/external audits and reporting requirements
- Support open enrollment and year-end reporting (W-2s, T4s, etc.)
- Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies through proactive analysis
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of payroll experience, including 2+ years with UKG systems
- Advanced knowledge of payroll practices, taxation, and compliance
- Strong Excel skills (candidates will be tested)
- Experience with benefits implementation and carrier integration
- Proven leadership ability; experience mentoring or managing a small team
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree in Business or Accounting a plus
- High integrity and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Additional Details:
- Full-time, direct-hire position
- Onsite role in Charlotte, NC
- Flexible schedule options: 7am–4pm, 8am–5pm, or 9am–6pm (choose one)
