Responsibilities:
- Check for real estate title defects after conducting property search for title issues such as liens, claims, deeds, wills, mortgages, or fraud
- Review all closing documents to be sure title commitments have been met, issue title policy, and prepare closing statements to transfer the title to the new owner
- Work effectively throughout the closing process with a variety of industry professionals such as real estate agents, settlement agents, title insurance agents, law firms, escrow officers, closing agents, paralegals, and escrow companies
- Examine maps, liens, judgments, leases, agreements, public records, contracts, surveys, and plat books to verify legal description, ownership, and restrictions
- Facilitate title search and prepare title abstract and title opinion
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required -- college degree preferred
- State license requirements must be met for this position --title producers license is a bonus
- 3-5 years of experience in title closing, title examiner, abstractor, or closing services is required
- Microsoft Office Suite proficient
- Prefer process-driven, analytical and detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple transactions efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients, real estate agents, and legal professionals.
