The Pediatric Pulmonology Division, part of the Department of Pediatrics within our organization, is seeking a dedicated Pediatric Pulmonologist to join our team. Applicants should be fellowship-trained and board certified or eligible in pediatric pulmonology.
About the Division:
- Comprises 2 Pediatric Pulmonologists
- Includes 2 Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
- Delivers both inpatient and outpatient consultative care
- Covers a 24-county area, which includes:
- Upstate New York
- Western Massachusetts
- Western Vermont
Our division operates multidisciplinary clinics focusing on neuromuscular conditions, aerodigestive issues, and hosts a monthly BPD Clinic for NICU graduates. We proudly maintain the region's only accredited Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Center, recognized nationally for our quality improvement efforts and acknowledged by the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for our involvement in community events.
Features of the CF Center:
- Multidisciplinary CF care team, which includes:
- Pharmacists
- Dietitian
- Child-life specialist
- Mental health coordinator
- Case manager
- Respiratory therapist
- Nurse coordinator
- NPs and physicians
- Supported by the Donna Crandall Foundation:
- Provides groceries at each visit
- Offers financial support for families affected by CF
Clinical Tools and Facilities:
- Comprehensive Pulmonary Function Laboratory
- Office-based flexible laryngoscopy equipment
- Flexible bronchoscopy conducted under anesthesia
Our division collaborates closely with other specialists in the Department of Pediatrics to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients at the Bernard & Millie Duker Children’s Hospital. We work alongside faculty in critical care, neonatology, hospital medicine, and various subspecialties. Additionally, our faculty and staff mentor medical students from the 3rd and 4th years at Albany Medical College, as well as advanced practice students from local institutions.
Compensation:
The competitive base salary for the assistant professor position ranges from $195,000 to $206,000, with additional incentive bonuses available. Salary and rank will be determined based on experience.
