Job Location:

This role is 100% on-site and can sit in either Reston, VA, Washington, DC, or Bethesda, MD.

Clearance:

Must have an active TS/SCI Security Clearance.

Job Description:

In this position as a Subject Matter Expert, you will support the development and implementation of accounting standards, internal controls, and financial reporting systems for our government clients. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with applicable policies and guidelines, advising management on financial and accounting matters, and contributing to the preparation of key financial assurance documents. In this position, you will also:

  • Prescribe accounting standards, policies, and requirements tailored to client environments
  • Assist in preparing annual statements of assurance per OUSD(I) guidance
  • Advise management on accounting, financial management, and organizational structuring
  • Leverage accounting data to recommend solutions to operational and financial challenges
  • Provide guidance on auditing practices related to Property, Plant, and Equipment (PP&E), with emphasis on Internal Use Software (IUS)
  • Design, implement, and assess internal control processes and systems
  • Ensure that financial information systems comply with internal control requirements for financial reporting and asset safeguarding

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or audit.
  • 3 years of experience managing both quantitative and qualitative financial data, including budget formation and cost analysis.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively present financial insights to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to compile, analyze, interpret, and present complex financial information
  • Familiarity with DoD financial systems, audit readiness, or internal control frameworks
  • CPA, CGFM, or CDFM certification
  • Prior experience working with or advising government clients

At Blake Willson Group, we believe in transparency and fairness in compensation practices. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $130,000 to $170,000 in the United States. Your individual salary within this range will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to your education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
