About the Role:

The CDL Driver A plays a crucial role in the construction industry by ensuring the safe and timely transportation of materials and equipment to various job sites. This position requires a strong commitment to safety regulations and the ability to navigate diverse driving conditions. The driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle in optimal condition, performing routine inspections, and addressing any mechanical issues that may arise. Our CDL Driver A will report to the foreman of the crew and play a key role in success of the team. Effective communication with site managers and team members is essential to coordinate delivery schedules and ensure that projects remain on track. Ultimately, the success of construction operations heavily relies on the reliability and efficiency of the CDL Driver A. Team members are often required to work early shifts and weekends, public holidays, and evenings. CDL Driver A's are a key member of the team, so observing what needs to be done and jumping in to assist is a day to day expectation.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience as a commercial driver, preferably in the construction industry.
  • Must pass DOT drug test and physical.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience operating and driving heavy duty dump style trucks in a construction field.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Familiarity with construction site protocols and safety practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Transport construction materials and equipment to and from job sites in a safe and timely manner.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours worked and materials transported.
  • Communicate effectively with site managers and team members to coordinate delivery schedules and address any issues.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Have a positive and safe work site attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
