We are looking for an experienced Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in Bloomington, Minnesota. In this role, you will provide comprehensive bookkeeping and office management services for small business clients, ensuring their financial records are accurate and well-maintained. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively while maintaining independence.
Responsibilities:
Manage full-cycle bookkeeping, including maintaining accurate financial records and preparing monthly reporting.
Reconcile bank accounts and ensure all adjustments are properly recorded.
Oversee payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
Prepare payroll tax deposits, quarterly payroll tax filings, W‑2s, and 1099s in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Prepare and file sales tax returns, offering guidance to clients on filing procedures when necessary.
Maintain detailed subsidiary records for fixed assets, loans, and other key accounts.
Analyze and reconcile accounts, identifying discrepancies and escalating issues as appropriate.
Communicate with clients regarding deadlines, reporting needs, and required documentation.
Draft payroll and sales tax correspondence for internal review.
Support general office operations by helping maintain an organized and efficient work environment.
A minimum of 5 years of full-charge bookkeeping experience with demonstrated full-cycle accounting responsibility.
Proficiency in QuickBooks and other common accounting software.
Strong understanding of AP, AR, payroll, and account reconciliation processes.
Experience preparing payroll and sales tax filings, including W‑2s and 1099s.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal staff.
High level of accuracy, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently while following established procedures and knowing when to escalate issues.
