Barrett Woodyard & Associates is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our project team. At BW&A, our goal is to provide the highest level of engineering service to our clients. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will work closely with Senior Engineers assisting in designing Mechanical systems on a variety of projects.
A successful candidate can expect to gain valuable engineering experience in designing HVAC and plumbing systems, planning and analyzing mechanical systems for a variety of projects including but not limited to: high rise office buildings, general and medical office space, hospitality/hotels, educational facilities, distribution centers, manufacturing, retail and other commercial/industrial/institutional projects.
Primary Responsibilities
· Participate in the design and specification of power and control systems, system layouts, load calculations, equipment sizing and selection, performing calculations of lighting systems and associated controls for assigned projects.
· Communicate with clients, contractors, and other project team members as needed to support project design.
· Generate construction documents using AutoCAD/Revit
· Manage multiple projects through design until completion of construction
· Coordinate with design team professionals of other disciplines as they perform their designs to ensure proper coordination on construction documents.
· Research and apply applicable codes to design.
· Perform project site visits during design and construction to ensure proper implementation of the design documents.
· All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent BSET
· 0-5 years of related engineering experience
· Engineer in Training (EIT) Certification, preferred but not required.

· Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, and Word
· AutoCAD and Revit experience preferred
