Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Stepdown experience to provide exceptional care in a dynamic hospital setting located in Lees Summit, MO. This contract position requires clinical expertise in PCU/Stepdown environments with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:5, and a commitment to delivering high-quality nursing care.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience; prior Charge Nurse and Teaching Hospital experience preferred
• First-time stepdown nurses accepted
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in multiple clinical settings including Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Cardiac Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU/IMC/DOU, and ER Holding areas
• Strong cardiac monitoring skills: dysrhythmia interpretation and management, rapid response team utilization
• Experience with cardiovascular post-procedures (post-cardiac cath, post-MI, post-cardiac surgery)
• Knowledge in endocrine/metabolic care including IV insulin protocols
• Competence in gastrointestinal, genitourinary, renal, IV therapy, and phlebotomy procedures, including blood product administration and central line care
• Medications management including heparin protocols, cardiac drips, PCA, and procedural sedation administration
• Familiarity with neurological and psychiatric care, orthopedics, plastics, respiratory therapies, and wound care
• Ability to float across units and departments as needed, including inpatient holding and emergency department support

Schedule and Location:

• Night shift: Three 12-hour shifts per week (18:45 - 07:15)
• Weekend requirement: At least 8 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule period, covering Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays
• Located in Lees Summit, Missouri, a vibrant community offering convenient access to metropolitan amenities along with scenic parks, quality schools, and family-friendly neighborhoods
