Senior Injection Mold Toolmaker, Precision Plastics
Job Description
Job Description Shape the tools that shape better sight
You arrive at our Manufacturing Facility in Houston, TX before sunrise on Tuesday. At 4:00am CST, you scan overnight production data from our four molding suites, then roll up your sleeves. A precision mold needs a quick teardown; another tool calls for polishing to ±0.0002” fit; a hot runner awaits a basic repair. By mid-morning, you’ve verified critical process parameters, recorded measurements, and coached a tech on a complex setup. After lunch, you isolate a stubborn defect for further analysis, adjust an optical gauge, and sign off on documentation to GxP standards. Before you go at 2:30pm, you’ve improved uptime, shared know-how, and kept our patients’ needs in sharp focus.
That’s a day in the life of a Senior Injection Mold Toolmaker at Alcon—part of our Engineering function, the team that elevates quality, processes, products, packaging, and materials to deliver brilliant outcomes worldwide.
