Job Summary:


Are you a dog lover who thrives in a fast-paced, fun environment? As an ACC Plus Handler, you'll be in charge of keeping our more delicate guests safe, happy, and healthy! From supervising wellness activities to administering meds and ensuring top-notch care, every day will be an adventure. You'll work closely with a team to provide individualized attention to dogs of all kinds and help them thrive during their stay. Plus, youll play a key role in training new staff and making sure each dog has the best experience!

*This position involves caring for post-operative and special needs dogs. Veterinary Technician/Assistant experience a must.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide post-operative care as prescribed by the clients veterinarian
  • Administer medications correctly and on time. This includes giving insulin as required.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate health records for each dog.
  • Feed each dog according to their provided instructions
  • Ensure that each dog is comfortable in their housing area
  • Exercise each dog as outlined in their treatment plan.
  • Maintain and clean all ACC PLUS areas, following all facility cleaning protocols
  • Provide enrichment activities if included in the treatment plan
  • Communicate all issues with the Shift Supervisor and the ACC PLUS Team
  • Complete all provided training to include Pack Pro Dog handling and Hands On training
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Qualifications



  • Veterinary Technician/Assistant required
  • Must be able to stand for prolonged periods without a break.
  • Able to lift 50-60 pounds, bend and squat repeatedly
  • Work with cleaning chemicals safely
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to use the computer to communicate, input data.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • High attention to detail and critical thinking skills
