Job Title: Perm- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
Location: Robbinsdale, MN
Pay Rate: $35.82 $46.19/hour
Shift: Days/Nights; 8 & 12-hour shifts; 72 hours per 2-week period
Weekend Requirement: Rotating weekends by department
On-Call Requirement: Off-premise call
Job Summary:
The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) supports the surgical team by ensuring a safe, sterile environment, assisting surgeons during procedures, and maintaining proper functioning of surgical instruments and equipment. This role works under the supervision of a registered nurse and cares for a diverse patient population, including neonates, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Assists surgeons during procedures, including holding retractors, cutting sutures, connecting suction, and applying dressings within CST scope.

Ensures a safe and sterile surgical environment by implementing aseptic techniques, universal precautions, and infection control practices.

Prepares, monitors, and maintains surgical instruments and equipment before, during, and after procedures.

Participates in quality improvement initiatives to optimize surgical outcomes.

Recognizes and responds promptly to emergency situations in the OR.

Collaborates effectively with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient care.

Evaluates personal performance in line with professional standards and regulatory guidelines.

Adheres to all legal, regulatory, and procedural requirements.

Follows the North Memorial Health Code of Conduct and upholds patient and staff confidentiality.

Reports compliance concerns to the appropriate leader or officer.
Qualifications:

Education: Graduate from an accredited Associate Degree Surgical Technologist program (Required). Proof required at submission.

Certification:
-
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from NBSTSA or NCCT (or must obtain within 12 months of hire) (Required)

Current BLS certification (Required)

Experience:

1+ year experience as a Surgical Technologist (Preferred)

New grads with completed clinicals will be considered

Proficient with PCs and MS Office applications
