Tour Operations Reservations Sales Agent for a well-established Tour Operations company in northern NJ. This is an in-house position. Business hours M-F-9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, rotating Saturday 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM with OT. The primary responsibility is to handle bookings and reservations for travel packages, tours, to Italy, Greece, Spain/Portugal and Hawaii. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and strong communication abilities to ensure clients have a smooth and satisfactory booking experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing Reservations:
- Process bookings for tours, accommodations, transportation, and activities.
- Confirm and amend reservations, handling any changes or cancellations.
- Ensure accuracy in reservation details, including dates, names, and special requests.
- Work with Travel Agencies as well as the public.
Customer Service:
- Respond to client inquiries via phone, and email regarding tours and travel packages.
- Provide detailed information about available packages, pricing, and itinerary details.
- Assist clients with special requests, such as dietary requirements, accessibility needs, or other preferences.
Sales and Upselling:
- Promote and upsell additional services such as excursions, insurance, or premium upgrades.
- Explain tour packages and services to potential customers, encouraging bookings.
Handling Issues and Complaints:
- Resolve any booking-related issues or complaints promptly and professionally.
- Offer alternative solutions in the event of overbooking or unexpected cancellations.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and client interactions.
- Keep up-to-date with travel policies, destination updates, and promotional offers.
- Generate reports on booking statistics, customer feedback, and revenue.
Skills Required:
- Strong Communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with clients and partners.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure accuracy in bookings and reservations to avoid errors.
- Customer-Oriented: Focus on providing excellent service to create positive client experiences.
- Organizational Skills: Handle multiple bookings and inquiries efficiently.
- Problem-Solving: Address challenges and resolve customer issues.
- Familiarity with Booking Software: Experience with reservation systems and travel management tools.
Qualifications:
Experience: Prior experience in customer service, travel agencies, or tourism.
- Technical Skills: computer savvy with general knowledge of Sabre GDS
- Languages: Fluency in multiple languages can be a plus, especially in international tourism.
