This role partners closely with production to improve first-pass yield, reduce scrap/rework, standardize methods, and ensure repeatable, high-quality output.Role & Responsibility:Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
- Responsible for production tooling and equipment requirements to support defined manufacturing processes.
- Implement Lean Process/Methods throughout production to achieve efficiency and cost savings.
- Measure key manufacturing process performance metrics.
- Develop and create production processes and control plans.
- Create and optimize processes for SMT, wave soldering, part prepping, coating/potting.
- Conduct training for production team members to ensure proper execution of defined processes.
- Provide technical leadership to the production team and New Product Introduction (NPI).
- Improve and implement production methods, equipment performance, process capability, and product quality with consistency and repeatability.
- Lead manufacturing teams to comply with control plans and customer requirements.
- Review and approve production tools, fixtures, and equipment spare part requisitions.
- Collaborate with customers and stakeholders to interpret product requirements, resolve manufacturing-related issues, and streamline instructions.
- Eliminate waste, reduce setup/changeover times, and improve first-pass yield while reducing rework and scrap.
Skills & ExperienceQualifications That Will Help You Thrive
- 7+ years of process/manufacturing engineering experience in PCB assembly environments.
- Strong knowledge of SMT, through-hole, wave soldering, coating/potting, and related board-assembly methods.
- Familiarity with IPC-610 and IPC-600 standards.
- Ability to read blueprints/schematics and translate requirements into robust processes and control plans.
- Strong computer skills (Excel) and excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma training/certification.
- Experience designing tooling/fixtures and standardizing work.
- Proven history improving first-pass yield and reducing scrap/rework.
