Location: Newark, NY
Type: Contract | 13 Weeks
Shift & Schedule: Night Shift | 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM | 5x8-Hour Shifts | 40 Hours Per Week
Every Other Weekend Required
Position Overview:
Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Nurse Assistant for an exciting Travel job in Newark, NY.
Responsibilities
-
Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.

Assist with ambulation, transfers, repositioning, and range-of-motion exercises.

Provide personal hygiene care including oral care, perineal care, skin care, foot care, shaving, and shower assistance.

Assist with pressure injury prevention and maintain resident comfort and safety.

Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, respirations, temperature, oxygen saturation, and weight.

Measure and document intake/output, drain output, urine output, and fluid restrictions.

Assist residents with bedpans, urinals, bedside commodes, and incontinence care.

Collect and transport specimens according to facility protocols.

Assist with catheter care for indwelling and external catheters.

Operate and assist with patient care equipment including Hoyer lifts, wheelchairs, transfer belts, specialty beds, stretchers, and oxygen equipment.

Follow infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE protocols.

Respond promptly to call lights and resident needs.

Observe and report changes in resident condition to nursing staff.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe patient care environment.

Stock supplies and assist with unit support duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
-
Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or equivalent Nurse Assistant credential.

Minimum one (1) year of Long-Term Care (LTC) experience.

Ability to safely lift, transfer, and reposition residents using proper body mechanics.

Experience assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs).

Knowledge of infection control procedures and isolation precautions.
-
Ability to accurately obtain and document vital signs and patient observations.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
-
Ability to work independently and as part of a healthcare team.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Previous travel healthcare experience.
-
Experience working in skilled nursing or long-term care facilities.
-
Familiarity with Hoyer lifts, specialty beds, oxygen equipment, and electronic vital sign devices.
