Job Title: Pediatrician
FLSA Status: Exempt
Schedule:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (1-hour unpaid lunch)
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Shared on-call rotation every 4–5 weeks
Work Setting: Fully onsite
Patient Volume: Approximately 18–20 patients per day
Team Structure:
Collaborative, multidisciplinary care team including physicians, nurse practitioners, behavioral health therapists, case managers, and specialty providers.
Interview Process:
Two rounds: initial virtual interview followed by onsite interview and facility tour
Position Summary
Provide high-quality primary medical care to children from birth to age 21, including routine wellness visits, immunizations, developmental screenings, and management of acute and chronic conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Direct Patient Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, including vision, hearing, and growth monitoring, as well as necessary diagnostic testing
- Diagnose and treat common pediatric conditions and minor injuries
- Provide services such as developmental screenings, asthma management, mental health evaluations, and nutritional counseling
- Refer patients to specialists when appropriate
- Educate patients and families on health, safety, nutrition, and preventive care
- Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients and caregivers
Collaboration:
- Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
- Participate in team meetings, case discussions, and care planning
- Engage in pre-visit planning and population health initiatives
- Support community outreach and health promotion efforts
Compliance & Documentation:
- Accurately document clinical encounters in the EMR system
- Maintain timely completion of documentation, billing, and related administrative tasks
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain accurate patient health records
- Contribute to EMR optimization and template development
- Participate in shared call coverage, including evenings and weekends
- Address patient concerns and incident follow-up as needed
- Support development and adherence to clinical policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) with completion of a Pediatrics residency
- Board eligible or board certified in Pediatrics (required)
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Active and unrestricted state medical license
- Valid DEA registration
- Infection control certification (if applicable per state requirements)
- Strong clinical and diagnostic skills with excellent bedside manner
- Bilingual skills (e.g., Spanish or other languages) preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
