Responsibilities
-
Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population. Consult with staff physicians as needed.

Furnishes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions, within their scope of practice.

Refers patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.

Directs and coordinates the patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.

Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives. Continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

As appropriate to the position, participates in specific health promotion, education, and/or prevention programs.

Assists in the ongoing development and implementation of performance-improvement activities such as quality assurance, peer review, and staff development.

Maintains a professional relationship with staff and patients.

Assists in the coordination and integration of all health clinic outreach programs as directed by the Medical Director.

Performs other related and/or necessary tasks to achieve clinic goals and objectives, as directed by the Medical Director.

In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is able to work a minimum of three (3) 4-hour Saturday shifts per calendar year, providing medical care to patients within the standard scope of practice. The requirement begins after the 90-day training period. Requirement begins after the 90-day training period, and compensation for coverage to be outlined in the offer.

In addition to regularly scheduled shifts, is available to respond to after-hours calls regarding critical lab results for adult patients throughout the organization for a minimum of 2 weeks per year, which includes pager responsibilities. Requirement begins after the 90-day training period, and compensation for coverage to be outlined in the offer.

Qualifications

Must have a current California Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant medical license to practice.

Must have a current California license issued by the Board of Registered Nurses/Medical Board of California.

Current registration issued by the DEA allows the prescription of drugs.

Current BLS certification and current national certificate.

3+ Years of hands-on primary care clinical experience is required (experience excludes clinical rotations/clerkships). We will consider candidates who have completed a residency hands-on training program of 12 or more months’ duration.

Experience using electronic health care records Epic highly desired.
Compensation

$50k Signing bonus available for select applicants (specific program terms apply)

$135k-$160k/yr. salary range
