Mission

Waséyabek Federal Services, LLC (WFS) is a 100% Tribally owned, Native American SBA 8(a) small business of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP). WFS is part of a portfolio of companies managed by Waséyabek Development Company, LLC, a 100% Tribally owned economic development firm focused on income diversification on behalf of NHBP that reaches beyond gaming is a well-funded, experienced small business, with substantial liquid assets and experience in federal contracting. WFS has borrowing capacity to meet the daily cash needs of new business development, new award support, and operational working capital. WFS is well-versed in federal contract compliance and providing outstanding support services.

Position Summary

The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the execution of the NETL accounting function. Support multiple project accounting functions, including responsibility for preparation and issuance of reports and statistics reflecting financial results. Administer approved accounting practices at project level to ensure that financial and operating reports accurately reflect the condition of the business and provide reliable information necessary to control operations. Also provides on-site project management/administrative support and coordination to a complex contract, project or task(s).

Responsibilities:

· Maintain employee database within the payroll system (CostPoint/ADP).

· Effectively manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions of the company.

· Review of employee expenses reports.

· Assist the company’s Business Manager with misc. projects and tasks as needed.

· Identify and train a back-up(s) to manage key tasks when absent.

· Additional functions not specifically outlined in this position description as directed.

· Perform contract accounting and reporting, project schedule focus to management, tracking annual fiscal plans and monthly updates, payroll/personnel processing, maintenance and reporting.

· Read and interpret the basic contract document as it relates to billing and revenue recognition, identify and confirm invoicing requirements with the contracts department as necessary, collaborate with project analysts to devise a project structure that considers billing, revenue and cost accumulation requirements.

· Maintain all aspects of projects within the accounting system.

· Prepare Cost Plus, T&M and Fixed Price billings for submission to customers.

· Perform monthly revenue review and research discrepancies.

· Perform monthly reconciliations of billed/unbilled vs. revenue activities, research and resolve unexplained reconciling items.

· Supervise staff in one or more accounting/financial areas.

· Test, install, modify and maintain accounting/financial systems.

· Responsible for the preparation and issuance of financial statements and other internal and external reports as required.

· Manage the proper distribution of charges to all accounts and contracts.

· Interface with Government, corporate and private auditors on an as needed basis.

· Assist with DCAA information requests.

· Ad hoc reporting as necessary.

· Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.

· Make modifications to existing procedures or systems as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and have at least 5 years of job-related experience.

· Must have excellent spreadsheet and word-processing skills

· Must be detail-oriented, highly motivated, and able to multitask

· Willingness to work in a fast paced environment

· Automated Payroll and Timekeeping Systems – Advanced working knowledge of payroll processing systems and timekeeping systems, including the processing of payroll transactions, maintenance of data elements within each system.

· Computer Skills – Intermediate proficiency in Outlook, Word, and Excel.

· Wage and Hour Laws and Regulations – Solid understanding of multi-state payroll laws.

· Federal, State, and Local Payroll Taxes – Solid understanding of multi-state payroll tax laws

· Steward the organizational culture with a focus on teamwork and commitment to service amidst a diverse colleague and customer base.

· Ability to quickly adapt focus, adjust schedule and problem solve to meet evolving work demands and needs of supervisor and other stakeholders.

· Highly resourceful team-player, with the ability to also work independently and balance multiple competing priorities and tasks.

· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

· Ability to pass an extensive background investigation, including but not limited to personal and professional financial history, nationwide criminal record search, credit check and other relevant background information deemed necessary by WFS.

Preferred Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Prior knowledge or experience working with a Native American Tribe.

· Deltek Costpoint experience is preferred

· Government contract experience

· CPA

· Union contract experience
