Looking to hire 1 full-time Medical Receptionist with a serious interest and experience in medical billing and coding. Work for a well-run, local, Private Ophthalmology Practice in Vero Beach with a single doctor in office that sees clinic patients daily. Doctor also performs in-office minor surgical/laser procedures and major procedures at outpatient ASC. Candidates need to be self-starters, possess confidence in their abilities and display the highest level of professionalism in patient care.

1 year billing/reception experience is preferred but not required. Pay based on experience and proven skill sets.

Successful candidates must be TEAM PLAYERS, self-motivated, professional, confident, and have a positive attitude about care for patients, learning, and performing their job with accuracy. Position requires sitting and working on the computer for numerous hours during the day, discussing billing with patients and insurance companies, and communicating with staff. Candidates should enjoy working with numbers and be able to multi-task.

Candidates will also learn and help:

-Schedule new patients in the office and at the surgery center in person and over the phone

-Maintain medical records and communicate patient information with staff and other offices via eFax

-Accurately verify insurance information for patients on Availity and other online insurance platforms

-Collect Copays, balances due, and accurately allocate funds for patients

-Review and submission of daily CPT codes to RCM company

-Communicate with RCM company and doctor/staff regarding insurance denials/questions

-Perform Insurance Audits

-Review and confirm daily scheduling of patients

-Obtain prior authorizations for minor procedures and surgeries

-Assist with incoming fax referrals for new patient appointments and sorting of online e-documents

-Confirm upcoming patient appointments electronically and by phone

-Experience with Medicare FCSO website, LCDs, and insurance negotiation/contracting is a plus!

Ophthalmology billing experience is a plus but not necessary. Medical billing experience is helpful, but we are willing the train a candidate who has serious interest in learning and having a successful career. Room for growth with our expanding practice for the right candidate. Position requires a good understanding of computers and working on multiple platforms (EHR, PM, Google drive, email) considerable attention to detail, ability to communicate with patients, surgeons, coworkers and supervisors and a willingness to help in all areas to assist the team if needed. In office educational printed and online material provided. Office pays for continuing education reimbursement. *Pay rate based on experience and quality of work; guaranteed pay increase at 90 day based on successful work performance! Bonus/commission opportunities available.

Office Hours:

7:00am - 5:00pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday

* Tuesday alternates AM/PM 1/2 days for staff

7:00am - 4:30pm Thursday

7:00am - 2:00pm Friday

* Hours have some flexibility based on employee's schedules
