YWCA Lancaster is looking for full-time School Age Child Enrichment Program Supervisor, who is an integral part of our team.
YWCA Lancaster partners with Penn Manor School District to provide kindergarten wrap class and before/after school care.
What your day looks like:
- Provide a positive, nurturing environment for children, parents and staff.
- Perform primary job responsibilities of Kindergarten Enrichment Teacher of planning and executing developmentally appropriate activities for the children based on the PA Academic Standards.
- Always maintain ratio and supervision of students.
- Ensure that all staff are adhering to DHS regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the room and facilities, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping,
and sanitizing all surfaces and toys.
- Submit monthly electronic attendance to billing personnel and notify assistant director by close of business on the last day of the month.
- Utilize appropriate behavior management techniques with children.
- Build behavior plans with staff and parents as needed.
- Ensure that all name-to-face cards are generated, using YWCA approved branding, for each child by the end of the first week of school or first week of care. Ensure usage of name- to face cards per supervision policy.
- Work with parents and school personnel to ensure cooperative relationships between the YWCA and Penn Manor School District.
- Assist with supervision of staff and report any concerns to Assistant Director.
- Ensure that snacks and any supplies for site are replenished.
- Attend training sessions and maintain a current PDR in accordance with Keystone Stars requirements.
- Submit weekly lessons plans by Monday at 10am to Assistant Director.
- Assist with registration nights for Camp and School Year, as assigned.
- Ensure that all children’s observations and assessments are completed by timeline given by program administration.
- Assistant with training of current and new staff.
- Ensure the fire drills are completed each month.
- Responsible for transportation and completion of all paperwork to and from the sites.
- Follow bus/van rules when traveling with students. Assist children with entrance and departure of vehicles if necessary.
- Be first contact with parents on site. Keep parents informed of events and behavior problems.
- Practice flexibility regarding staffing needs.
- Attend monthly staff meetings.
- Work cooperatively with SACC staff and other YWCA personnel.
- Participate in two YWCA Staff Professional Development Days.
- Adhere to YWCA Policies and Procedures.
- Participate in at least one mission related activity every year.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Who you are:
- BA/BS degree in Early Childhood Education., Child Development, Special Ed., Elementary Ed., or human services field; or a BA/BS degree which includes 30 credits in a related field preferred
- Leadership experience working in a school district or childcare program
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with DHS guidelines and regulations
- Strong written, oral communication and listening skills
- Desire and ability to embody the YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism and empowering women.
- Respect for children and their caregivers, as well as a belief in the individuality of each child.
- Adherence to confidentiality policies
- Must be able to lift 45 lbs. and have movement ability to sit, stand, crawl, climb, lift overhead, bend and move from sitting position on floor to standing position.
