Job DescriptionSalary: $150k-175k DOE
The Purchasing Director will play a key role in building, creating, and negotiating vendor relationships and procurement strategies. This is a senior-level position that will focus on blending supply chain management, logistics, and project cost control across the branches and corporate office. In addition, the procurement director will need to communicate across multiple levels, track rebate program and strengthen the team of purchasers across the company.
Strategic Procurement & Planning:
Role includes but is not limited to materials purchased for the execution of work in the field, tooling and technology
- Procurement Strategies: Develop and implement inventive and cost-effective procurement strategy across the company. Set direction and standardize procurement practices and develop consensual 'best practices'.
- Supplier Sourcing: Establish "C" level relationships with national/regional vendors.
- Negotiation: Negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms and conditions, optimizing cost savings and procurement efficiency for companywide pricing discounts.
- Systems Oversight: Evaluate supply chain innovations offered by vendors and make recommendations. Oversee Vendor/Manufacturer Rebate Programs.
- Contract Review: Review existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure ongoing feasibility and compliance with organizational standards.
- Leadership: Provide leadership to procurement peer group and develop training programs for purchasing agents.
- Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements, identifying and mitigating potential risks to the organization.
- Budget Control: Monitor commodities cost trends.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Proven experience as a Procurement Director or in a similar role, with a strong background in procurement strategies, supplier management, and contract negotiation. 8+ years of experience required.
- Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and to lead a team. Strong organizational and analytical abilities, with attention to detail.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency with procurement software and systems, as well as a solid understanding of inventory management and supply chain processes.
- Education: Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CPP - Certified Procurement Professional) are advantageous.
