Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2+ years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for an experienced Operating Room Nurse specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and open heart surgery. This position offers a contract role with mostly day shifts, typically 8 hours from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM, varying slightly by department. Nurses in this role are expected to support surgical teams in a fast-paced environment and participate in on-call rotations approximately 10-12 days per month.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide perioperative nursing care specific to CVOR and open heart procedures
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure patient safety and surgical efficiency
- Maintain sterile fields and manage surgical instruments and equipment appropriately
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records system for accurate documentation and communication of patient information
- Respond effectively to emergency situations and call demands as required
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse licensure with operating room experience
- Proven background in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and open heart surgery cases
- Familiarity with EPIC electronic medical records software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic surgical team
- Flexibility to cover call shifts 10-12 days per month
