We are looking for amazing and talented Pastry chefs to join upscale, high volume restaurants around San Diego. These restaurants are chef driven, upscale neighborhood restaurants with seasonal, rotating menus using only fresh, local ingredients. The design direction is vintage, seaside, luxury. We are looking for individuals that truly understand the culinary arts and take joy in the art of making others feel taken care of. In order to be successful, you have to love people! Responsibilities:
- Lead the pastry department and manage daily pastry prep and service.
- Develop and execute seasonal dessert menus that align with culinary vision.
- Oversee all aspects of pastry production, including breads, plated desserts, ice creams, and specialty items.
- Prepare consistently excellent dishes—every plate should reflect pride and attention to detail.
- Work efficiently under pressure—busy nights are a team effort, and every second counts.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked station—because great food starts with great preparation.
- Communicate and collaborate with the team—timing and coordination are everything.
- Always strive to improve.
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines—keeping guests and team members safe is non-negotiable.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Minimum 1-5 years of experience as a Pastry Cook or Pastry Chef or equivalent role in a fine dining environment.
- Proven track record of creativity, leadership, and team management.
- Strong technical pastry skills across a range of techniques and disciplines.
- Experience is great, but a strong work ethic and willingness to learn are just as important.
- Attention to detail and consistency—every dish should meet high standards.
- Ability to work at a fast pace while staying focused.
- Strong sense of teamwork and communication.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Certification: Food Handler Card. (Training made available to you directly through the company if you do not have)
Multiple openings across 2 distinct units in San Diego. Full time, 40 hour schedule with weekends and holidays.
