Position Purpose:
We are looking for an experienced Controller to oversee all financial aspects of our foundry operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing finance, with particular expertise in cost accounting and financial strategy for small to medium-sized businesses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management, including cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Drive the company's financial strategy and contribute to hiring decisions
- Develop and implement annual operating, capital, and program budgets
- Ensure robust cash flow management and oversee day-to-day accounting, reporting, and internal control activities
- Implement best practices and tools for fiscal management, project coordination, and cross-team communications
- Ensure compliance with national and local financial requirements
- Collaborate with senior managers on budget proposals and financial reporting
- Identify revenue opportunities, analyze economic trends, and optimize internal operations
- Perform risk management and evaluate capital structure and fundraising initiatives
- Monitor business performance, establish corrective measures, and prepare detailed reports for various stakeholders
- Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred
- 5+ years of progressive financial management experience, with at least 3 years in a senior financial role
- Significant experience in manufacturing finance, particularly in foundry or related industries
- Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices in a manufacturing environment
- Expertise in AR/AP management and experience as a controller
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, preferably those used in manufacturing settings
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and communication abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance
- CPA or other relevant professional certification
- Experience in the steel industry or related manufacturing sectors
- Knowledge of international finance and global market dynamics
- Familiarity with ERP systems and financial software (Odyssey)
- Track record of successful cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
