An opportunity is available for a skilled Pharmacy Technician with expertise in specialty infusion and sterile compounding practices. This contract role, with potential for temp-to-hire placement, supports a hybrid workflow combining patient care coordination with hands-on pharmacy operations in a specialty pharmacy setting.
Position Overview:The role balances approximately 5070% patient care coordination duties with 3050% pharmacy operations and clean room support. Immediate start is preferred to ensure smooth integration into existing workflow processes.
Key Responsibilities: Manage patient referrals, intake documentation, and process prior authorizations
Verify insurance benefits and eligibility; facilitate payer communications
Coordinate therapy initiation, medication delivery, and maintain patient records
Assist with prescription processing, dispensing workflow, and sterile compounding preparation
Uphold USP 797 compliance and clean room guidelines
Support inventory management and collaborate with pharmacists to ensure accurate order fulfillment
Qualifications: Active Pharmacy Technician registration/license (Virginia preferred)
PTCB certification strongly preferred
Experience in specialty, infusion, or hospital pharmacy settings
Background in prior authorization, insurance processing, sterile compounding, and clean room operations
Strong communication, organizational skills, and ability to start immediately
Location:Position is based in Northern Virginia with potential candidates considered from DC or Maryland areas.
