Title: Unit Clerk
Shift: Evening (3:00 PM – 11:00 PM)
Location: Flushing, NY 11355
Pay: Up to $22/hr
Assignment Length: 17-week assignment
Schedule Details:
• Shift may vary between 3:30 PM–11:45 PM or 2:00 PM–10:15 PM depending on coverage
• Every other weekend required
• Every other Wednesday & Thursday off (when working weekends)
Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Unit Clerk to support daily administrative operations in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong timekeeping experience and excellent clerical skills to ensure smooth unit workflow and accurate documentation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform accurate and thorough timekeeping duties for staff scheduling and attendance
- Provide general clerical support including filing, scanning, and document preparation
- Answer phones and relay messages professionally and promptly
- Operate office equipment, manage supplies, and maintain organized work areas
- Assist nursing and administrative staff with unit coordination tasks
- Enter data accurately and maintain required records
- Support communication across departments to ensure efficient unit operations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Minimum 2 years of timekeeping experience (required)
- Must have strong clerical skills, including typing minimum 60 WPM
- 1 year of clerical experience OR graduation from a commercial/secretarial school
- Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills (required)
- Thorough knowledge of office equipment and administrative processes
