Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding:
- Work with department supervisors to develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract candidates and retain proper employee levels.
- Maintain vendor relations with staffing agencies, insurance providers, labor attorneys, and other ancillary service providers.
- Support department supervisors as needed with conducting interviews, oversee the hiring process, and onboard new employees.
- Employee Relations:
- Assist employees and supervisors with questions regarding pay, benefits, etc.
- Mediate conflicts and provide guidance on performance management.
- Conduct investigations and recommend corrective action.
- Consult with supervisors regarding progressive discipline.
- Compliance:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel files, employee records, and HR documentation.
- Ensure adherence to labor laws, HIPAA, OSHA, and state/federal regulations.
- Manage Workers Compensation process.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and employee handbooks.
- Provide records for external audits from insurance and government agencies as needed.
- Payroll:
- Oversee processing of 7 biweekly payrolls for 9 companies with 16 locations in 14 states.
- Manage Payroll Coordinator to ensure accuracy of payroll.
- Develop and oversee internal audit processes to ensure accuracy of payroll and adherence to labor laws.
- Manage year end processes including W2, 1095, and other tax documents/issues.
- Benefits Administration:
- Participate in benefit plan design, costing, and selection.
- Manage the annual open enrollment process and meetings.
- Work with employees to manage healthcare, retirement, and leave programs.
- Reconcile insurance vendor billing to the payroll deductions and make necessary corrections.
- Assist employees with all 401k requests, approve and/or submit forms to ADP for processing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in HR roles with progressive responsibility required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience working within a manufacturing environment required.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws including OSHA, Workers Comp, FLSA, and FMLA, etc.
- Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, policy and procedure development, and compliance.
- Experience with administration of employee benefits programs.
- Ability to work under pressure, to multi-task, and to reprioritize tasks daily.
- Experience with ADP Payroll and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel, Word, and Outlook).
