Job Description

Job DescriptionAdministration of Warm Springs Reservation Land Code including record-keeping. Participation in planning and monitoring of all plans and projects to ensure conformity with the Land Use Code, Comprehensive Plan and other applicable policy directives for Tribal Land Management. Administer land code, zoning ordinance and leasing provisions on all Tribal owned lands and off-reservation trust lands, monitor land use activities, and ensure land use meets Comprehensive Plan and zoning and policies. Record, collect and transfer fees for variances and conditional use permits to tribal general fund.
Requirements

Accurate and timely performance of all duties and responsibilities. Inspect land use management plans and projects for conformance to Warm Springs Land Code and Zoning. Provide timely required reports of land use actions to all concerned parties. Make on-site inspections of violations or non-compliance and record findings for presentation to Tribal Court. Post conditional use applications and public notifications timely and accurately. Associates Degree in related field, plus 4 years’ experience. Land use planning or land use law preferred. Carto- graphic skills required. Good communication skills, written and oral. Knowledge of Indian law and familiar with Warm Springs Reservation and organic and historical documents. Knowledge of computers, software and applications. Working knowledge of land use planning and management and Realty functions. Must submit and pass a criminal background check with Federal, Tribal and State Law Enforcement. Must also pass a pre-employment alcohol and drug screening.
